Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI)

The Stockholm International Water Institute, SIWI, is an independent, not-for-profit foundation that aims to influence key decision-makers to address water challenges and develop, integrate and implement water policies, plans and management practices across sectors, stakeholders and scales. We target to support water related decision-makers and practitioners in low income and emerging economies. SIWI combines international leading-edge water knowledge development and learning on water with water governance actions to develop and promote practical water governance solutions that can enable inclusive and sustainable development of water resources and related services. SIWI is seen as a, trusted, knowledgeable, inclusive, and independent partner to contribute to resolve current and emerging water challenges by activities of research, capacity development, policy advice, and facilitation of stakeholder processes. In our niche to influence and catalyse, we are bridging evidence-based policy and practice and how to best learn from it.
