Integrated Monitoring Guide for Sustainable Development Goal 6 – Good practices for country monitoring systems - AR, EN, FR, RU, SP, ZH
Learn more about the institutional aspects of water and sanitation monitoring in this document, which outlinnes processes and principles for implementing SDG 6 monitoring at the country level, including success factors, institutional arrangements, stakeholder involvement and resources needs. The document also gives an introduction to the 2030 Agenda and its implications on countries.
The document is developed based on country feedback and lessons learned from the 2016 pilot testing of SDG 6 monitoring, which was carried out in Jordan, the Netherlands, Peru, Senegal and Uganda. The purpose of the pilot testing was to evaluate both the technical and the institutional feasibility of SDG 6 monitoring, and to explore how to successfully implement it at the national level.
For an introduction to the Sustainable Development Goal on water and sanitation (SDG 6) and its eight targets, and 11 global indicators, including a brief overview of the proposed methodologies for monitoring them, please refer to the “SDG 6 targets and global indicators”.
