United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) Division for Sustainable Development Goals announce the opening for submissions for the 2021 SDGs in Action Film Festival.

To build awareness of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda as well as to mobilize and scale up action on the ground, the United Nations Secretariat has been organizing since 2018 an “SDGs in Action Film Festival”, on the margins of the High-Level Political Forum. The United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) is the United Nations central platform for follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the global level, with inputs from the regional and national levels.

The Festival will showcase select short films that highlight how people and organizations around the world are taking action in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year, the competition will accept entries under the categories of: “Rebuilding communities from COVID-19”, “Protecting our planet”, and “Advancing gender equality”.

  • More information about the Festival and hoe to submit a film can be found here.
