The sixth session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Protocol on Water and Health, held on 16-18 November 2022 at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland, will be a key milestone for the implementation of the Protocol and an opportunity to discuss strategic directions of the pan-European water, sanitation and health agenda. The meeting is expected to gather representatives of over 40 countries and other stakeholders from the region, including international and non-governmental organizations, development agencies, academia and the private sector.

On 16 November 2022, there will be a high-level session on strengthening the resilience of WASH and health services in times of climate change and pandemics. The segment aims to take stock of countries’ responses to ensure access to water, sanitation and hygiene in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most importantly, the Meeting of the Parties will adopt a new programme of work for the period 2023-2025, which is the main instrument to support the Protocol’s implementation and to respond to countries’ priorities and needs.

All documents for the meeting will be available in September 2022.
