New data from FAO AQUASTAT

AQUASTAT contributes to the global monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, through the collection of data and estimation of the indicators SDG 6.4.1 - change in water use efficiency over time and SDG 6.4.2 - level of water stress. 

The new dissemination system allows publishing the data collected every year through the questionnaire sent to the AQUASTAT national correspondents, replacing the five year-period data of the previous dissemination system. It also allows the user to download a larger amount of data (up to 100,000 data points) compared to the previous system.

Another new release is the launch of version seven of AquaCrop, the crop growth model developed by FAO's Land and Water Division to address food security and assess the effect of the environment and management on crop production.
