How will we feed 9 billion people by 2050?

World Food Day is a day of action dedicated to tackling global hunger. Held annually on 16th October, people from around the world come together to declare their commitment to eradicate worldwide hunger from our lifetime.

In 2017 focusing on the future of migration, with the theme “Change the future of migration. Invest in food security and rural development.”

A theme that highlights the fact that food systems connect to issues such as water scarcity, declining soil fertility, land degradation, unpredictable and extreme weather patterns. Various factors that damage agricultural systems and communities, forcing people to move to new lands, cities, or even across borders, leaving under-utilised or degraded agricultural land behind.
