10 years of the human rights to water and sanitation

2020 marks the tenth year since the UN General Assembly adopted resolution explicitly recognizing the human rights to water and sanitation.

Throughout 2020, Léo Heller, Special Rapporteur on the human rights to water and sanitation is organizing the celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the General Assembly resolution 64/292, recognizing human rights to water and sanitation. Among others, he will be sharing friendly versions of the reports he has produced as Special Rapporteur, as well as their original content in the form of shareable media, blog posts and videos, to promote the human rights to water and sanitation.“I am very grateful to be able to celebrate 10 years of work and advocacy for the human rights to water and sanitation. Together with several partners, the campaign will shine a light on the progress that has been made since 2010 towards the realisation of the human rights to water and sanitation.” says Special Rapporteur Léo Heller.
